DESCRIPTION:The USSF makes its return to in-person competition! Join the USSF at the Strength Union to compete in both Powerlifting and/or Strengthlifting.  \nThe 2023 USSF Strength and Power Open is a sanctioned by the United States Strengthlifting Federation. Competitors will be ranked and will qualify for the 2023 USSF Championships in Portland Oregon.  \nCompetitors can choose between or compete in both Powerlifting and Strengthlifting\nPowerlifting: Squat\, Bench\, Deadlift (sumo or conventional)\nStrengthlifting: Press\, Deadlift (conventional only) \nWhere: Strength Union – Portland Oregon \nWhen: 4/15/23 \nCost: $70 \nPrizes: Top 3 Open\, Top 3 Women\, Top Masters Open\, Top Masters Women\, Top Junior Open\, Top Junior Women \nT-shirt: Yes\, cost included. Only available for those that signup before March 21st. \nFrequently Asked Questions: \nWhat gear is required? A non-supportive singlet\, collarless t-shirt\, pair of shoes\, and knee high socks are required. For the safety of our competitors and in the name of fairness of competition\, the USSF does not conduct weigh-ins. Weigh outs will be performed immediately following a lifters final attempt on the platform. \nAre there commands? There are no commands. A lifter merely needs to demonstrate proper control and execution of the lifts as detailed in the rules linked above. \nI’m a novice. Can I still compete? A novice athlete or person who has never competed before is welcome and will be supported. \nDo I need a membership to compete? Yes\, all USSF athletes must purchase a membership to be eligible to compete in a sanctioned event. Memberships are a $25 one-time purchase and valid for life.
